My celebration of National Reconciliation Week this year began in my birth city of Djilang (Geelong) on Wadawurrung Country.

As part of National Reconciliation Week I spent time today in pilgrimage on Wurundjeri Land.
I walked the footsteps with the stories of the Stolen Generation and the music of Uncle Archie and Aunty Ruby.
I spent time storytelling with a Noongar Aunty who was also visiting to pay her respects at the memorial to Archie and Ruby.
May we all find time for Dadirri, the encounter of inner deep listening.

The reconciliation pilgrimage took me to Tallawoladah Country. I took time to reflect on the wonderful photographs of Aunty Barbara McGrady.

The reconciliation week pilgrimage took me to Central Station in Sydney for a memorial ceremony with members of the Stolen Generation.
Platform 1 was where children removed from their families were transported to institutions.
Today we listened as survivors recounted stories of lost family connections, loss of culture and the legacy of inter-generational trauma.
In a smoking ceremony, dance, storytelling, and silence we were reminded to continue the journey to reconciliation.
